WLD is a file format native to ArcGIS software applications for storing maps and GIS (Geographical Information System) data. WLD was developed by U.S. company ESRI.
WLD files store data for raster image (pixel size, rotation, coordinates) in plain text format. Data stored in WLD file can be used to properly overlay an aerial photo on map.
