What is a SAVE file?
SAVE files are generated by Unix-based Nano text editor and are used as temporary files by said utility. SAVE file is stored in the same folder as the file edited in Nano – it has the same file name, but different file extension (in this case, SAVE).
SAVE file is generated by Nano if it runs out of memory or receives a SIGHUP or SIGTERM.
