AWB is an audio file chiefly used for recording speech. AWB files use wide band filters of 50 Hz-7000 Hz with 0,9375 ms delay. Bitrate is limited to the following rates: 6,60, 8,85, 12,65, 14,25, 15,85, 18,25, 19,85, 23,05, and 23,85 kbit/s.
AWB format was developed using Adaptive Multi-Rate technology, and the AMR-WB codec was designated as ITU-T G.722.2. AWB files are mainly used for streaming audio over GSM and UMTS connections.
