File with a .CRASH extension contains information about condition of a system in the moment program’s CRASH – time, initiated application and memory dump. File is in a text format, stored in / Library / Logs / DiagnosticReports directory, and the link to it in / Library / Logs / CrashReporter directory. It is a journal file specific for the CrashReporter software, which is an element of Mac OS.

CRASH log files are used to rapport software errors and their debugging. They can be send to application’s producer and also they can be viewed with system console. Names of files are generated according to a convention, which comprises of connected with the “_” sign name of the program, CRASH date, number and name of the computer on which a given crush occurred.
