APM is a metafile used by Microsoft Windows systems. APM is a graphics file that stores bitmap data. APM files can be converted to other image formats with free image editing tool GIMP.
APM (Aldus Placeable Metafile) differ from WMF files in that they use a 22-byte header. Various Windows applications create APM metafiles as a means of rescaling images for output different devices. Removing APM file’s header make it compatible with API function GetMetaFile().
