AWD is a fax image file format used by legacy Microsoft Windows operating systems (2000, XP). AWD format was used by Microsoft Fax application tool for storing content of received fax message. AWD files may be converted into TIF files by using system tool called awdvstub.exe.

AWD can be viewed and edited using software tools for managing faxes or images. AWD files, besides actual fax image data, store information about the structure of received page.
