File with a .CAM extension contains a compiled pakage of Gerber files stored in the CAM350 software, along with instructions regarding drilling tasks. The Computer-Aided Manufacturing software developed by Gerber company is used to create fabrication layers for printed circuit boards.

CAM files can be also used to browse through projects of fabrication layers in which PCB printed boards are created. Gerber files are 2D graphic projects.
