CXT is a modify-protected multimedia document file. CXT files are used by Adobe Director application for sharing documents between project members.

CXT format is now mostly obsolete and has been replaced by more advanced CCT format. CXT files were introduced along with Adobe Director 11 to allow project members to have access to non-editable shared objects related to given project.
