GP files are associated with older versions of Guitar Pro software. Newer versions of Guitar Pro use GPX files instead. GP files were used for storing music composition projects created by users.

Guitar Pro was developed by Arobas Music for Windows and Mac platforms. GP files may be freely edited using Guitar Pro. The tool offers tablature editor, advanced MIDI sequencer, and many more.
