Files with the .JRPRINT extension contain the complete contents of a report, namely headers and footnotes, text, images, and page layout. It is used together with a JASPER file to fill out reports with data from a given data source. Files of this type are generated and handled using the JasperReports open programming library created for the purposes of the Java programming language for report creation.

Using the same library, one can also create more universal documents based on JRPRINT files, namely in the PDF, XLS, CSV, RTF, TXT, XML, and HMTL formats.
