PCP file extension is used by Windows operating system for developer files. PCP files are used to generate software update – ‘patches’ as their are called – which purpose is to eliminate bugs and code errors, applying security updates, and adding new functionalities or resolving software performance problems. Windows SDK library is used for generating software update packages from PCP files.

It is worth noting that AutoCAD software uses file extension also named PCP for generating print style files.
