PEZ file contains single 2.5D presentation canvas with frames grouping elements such as graphical/visual, multimedia and text data. Frame is a form of a slide which offers an interactive zoom-in function. Presentation files created with Prezi Desktop software can store results of brainstorming session as well as more structured information or data owing to sequential navigation system.

Prezi presentation uses Adobe Flash technology, therefore in order to open a .PEZ file on Prezi website requires a web browser with proper plugin enabled. Presentation files can be saved as an application compatible with Windows or MacOS opreating systems. Tool for creating presentations is also available in the form of a web app.
