PSX files are used by game console developed by Sony. PSX file were used by older generations of the console (PS, PS2). Those console used memory cards to store data, including PSX files. PSX files were used to save game progress to be resumed later.

PSX were frequently used ot apply cheats to games. Console manufacturer offically stated that it doesn’t support such actions.
