Files with the .PTT extension contain templates for creating business information pack maps – PTM files, such as travel plans, product sales reach or information about documents created using Microsoft Office suite software. Data contained in PTT files can be placed in the geographical information systems – GIS for short – category.

PTT files are unique to the Microsoft MapPoint software, which was part of the Microsoft Office suite for businesses until 2014. Microsoft’s current alternative to this program are Bing maps.
