SPP is a layer file created by Serif PhotoPlus, a image editing application. SPP document format files are easily editable and offers similar data structure to PSD files used by popular image editor Adobe Photoshop.

PhotoPlus suite was released in 1999. Files with SPP extension beside image data can also image-related information such as color tone parameters, layer effects, curves, etc.
