BRF is text file used for storing Braille characters. BRF files contain 25 lines per page, each up to 39 characters long. BRF files can also store mathematical formulas and various symbols.

Visually impaired persons can download BRF files from the internet service Web-Braille. Similar to BRF format is the BFM file format. Some translation tools allow users to convert any text into a file format supported by Braille printer devices.
