BXL is a vendor-neutral CAD file format. BXL files can be converted into others format using a free tool called Ultra Librarian Desktop. It allows BXL files to be converted into more than 200 different CAD formats.

BXL files can store PCB schematis, symbols, or 3D models. The format is used by such companies as Texas Instruments, Microchip, Silicon Labs, NXP, Analog Devices, and many others. Largest PCB manufacturers use BXL format for exchanging project data.
