DPX is a file format used for the lossless exchange of digital graphic materials. The images stored in DPX files are bitmaps, but the DPX format is also used in the exchange of moving images (as a sequence of frames from still images in SMPTE files).
DPX is a Kodak format and is similar to the original Kodak image format. However, DPX has modified information in the file header.
