Files with the .DUMP extension contain logs – namely crash logs generated by the Google BreakPad software. DUMP files are generated alongside EXTRA files and allow for the sending of logs to programmers for the purposes of investigating and deleting bugs behind the software crashes.
Programs that use the BreakPad tool save the logs on the local disc – for example, the MozillaFirefox browser saves it in the AppDataRoamingMozillaFirefoxCrash subcatalog of the Users catalog.
