The GTP extension is given to files related to the music and tab notation software called Guitar Pro. GTP files are used to save projects created in the program. They may contain tablature for solo and / or bass guitar. Tablature is an alternative and simplified notation to the traditional notation on a stave. Based on GPT files, the program can also recreate its contents.

Guitar Pro is now a tool with many different amenities, not only for guitarists. It was developed by Arobas Music.
