R3D is a video format used by RED digital cameras. R3D files can store 8K resolution (8192 x 4320) video at 60 frames per second. Although R3D files use REDCODE compression method, the files tend to be quite large, sometimes even up to several dozens of gigabytes.

R3D files can be edited using most commercial video editing software tools. Interesting fact is that Windows 10 built-in tool Pictures is by default capable of opening R3D files.
