TGD filename extension is used for files created with TerraGen, a simulation software for rendering realistic natural environments, such as landscape images. TerraGen also allows user to animate created environments.

TGD files store projects created with TerraGen along with all resources used in given project. TerraGen software was developed by Planetside Software for Windows, Mac OS, and Mac OS X systems.
