000 files store CD / DVD disc images created with IsoBuster software tool. File s with 000 extension are generated by IsoBuster as a result of process of recovering data from storage devices. The tool allows user to fully or partially recover files from media discs.

The 000 format shares many similarities with the popular ISO format, but can easily be distinguished by its file header, which conforms to a different standard. In order to access data stored in 000 file an associated VC4 description file must be present. For multi-part image archives each subsequent part uses appropriately modified extension, i.e., 001, 002, etc.
