AAR is an Apache Axis2 Apache Web Services development package. Axis2 is a network service engine based on Java platform.
AAR format is typically used for programming-related purposes. Current version of Axis2 architecture was introduced during the Axis Summit in Colombo, Sri Lanka, which took place in August, 2004. It offers an updated modularity and emphasis on XML standard.
