APS file format is used by Microsoft Visual C++, and integrated development environment for creating software using C, C++, and C++/CLI languages. APS files store binary data for RC and H resources.

Compiler creates APS which are then read by resource editors. Such solution offers faster resource loading times. If APS files is synchronized with RC and H files, each time a source file is modified new APS is generated from scratch. Any deleted APS will be automatically recreated by Microsoft Visual C++.
