AUT is a text document file created in Autoit scripting language. Syntax of the language is very simple and shares many similarites with BASIC programming language. AUT files are used for automating tasks in Windows system.

Some of the more interesting features are the option to simulate mouse clicks and keystrokes, interactions with operating system’s GUI and processes. AUT documents after compilation into executable EXE file can be used to call external processes via DLL files.
