BBLX is a rather unusual file format for storing Bible citations. BBLX files are used by e-Sword software, developed by Rick Meyers, which was first released in 2000. Until version 9 of e-Sword BBL suffix was used for such files.

Data saved in BBLX files can be used to study Christian Bible by both amateurs and scholars. e-Sword is available for free. The software allows users to peruse and study Bible in accessible, digital format.
