BSP is a file format used by Quake game engine for storing various types of resources.

Binary Space Partitioning (BSP) technique uses algorithms that brakes up complex polygons into smaller convex sets which allows faster rendering of 3D maps. The downside of this technique is that it doesn’t work well for rendering large, open space environments.

BPS files contain map layouts, objects, and resources used by the engine to render game environments.
