CBV is an archive file format used by ChessBase software developed by CheesBase company, a tool for creating and managing chess games databases. ChessBase offers many such databases out of the box.

CBV file stores database in an archive creted by joining several CBH and some additional files into on CBV archive a solution which greatly facilitates file transportation. Actual chess databases are stored in CBH files.
