CV is an extension given to files associated with a software tool called CodeView. It is a debugger program that was included with the programming tools that allow you to create programs in C and C ++. CV files were generated while the debugger was running while the tested program was running. They contained information about possible irregularities in the program code.

CodeView was originally developed for tools running on the MS-DOS operating system, but was also included with Visual C ++ and Microsoft Visual Studio.
