DDZ is a driver file used by older Unix-based operating systems. Files with DDZ extension were commonly used in the 1980s mainly in SCO UNIX systems. DDZ files store driver images that can be used by the system to properly support external devices.

DDZ are no longer today. The peak of format’s popularity was in 1989 when SCO UNIX was released. The systems was later replaced by OpenServer and OpenDesktop systems, which used different type of driver format.
