Files with the .EMF extension contain vector graphics saved in a 32-bit data encoding format. They support the RGB color spectrum, but do not support CMYK.

EMF files are unique to the Windows operating system, and are supported by many applications. They are an extended version of the original 16-bit Windows Metafile Format – WMF for short. EMF files are also used in graphic-based communication with printer drivers.
