FEV is an extension of files created using the FMOD programming library. The FEV file is a component of a mini sound project and is used to store settings and matadata for the actual audio file with the FSB extension. Such a pair of files (FEV and FSB) are often used as sound effects in video games. The sound from the FSB file is made via the data from the FEV file at the appropriate point in the game. These are, for example, the sounds of nature, the sounds of footsteps or the roar of a firearm.

FMOD is a library that can be used on many platforms.
