File with an .HSH extension contains Windows system information on system indexing service. By default, it is located on a system partition in a System Volume Information sub-catalogue catalog.wci.
HSH files are used to quickly search through catalogues utilising files’ indexes. Along with other file formats - .FID, .000, .PS1, .BK1, .BK2, .PS2, indexing services create a complex index of Microsoft Windows system files.
