File with an .IPT extension contains a two or three dimensional object created with Autodesk Inventor. Along with other files – IPT parts, it may constitute a complex object stored in the IAM format.

The Autodesk Inventor software operating on the IPT files is used in the process of designing 3D prototypes. Such files can be imported also with other programs, such as 3ds Max.
