LIN is a ASCII text document used by CAD application. LIN files store line definitions for vector objects used by AutoCAD applications developed by Autodesk. LIN file is an example of shape object data saved in text format.

New line definitions can be added to existing LIN files easily by editing the file using any text editor. LIN file structure and specification documentation along with examples can be found in AutoCAD database.
