MCDX file format is used for storing engineering computation data and calculations. This file type is generated by Mathcad Prime software. Mathcad versions 15.0 and 14.0 were using XMCD document format.

MCDX file can contains various typed of data, such as macros, algorithms, functions, plots, and symbols, as well as matrix and vector calculations. The file can aslo store references to OLE objects in form of Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Visio documents. The format supports free-form text and multi-page sheets.
