file stores audio data in binary format and is used by Commodore and Amiga computers. The file is created by a ‘sound tracker’ program, a tool for creating simple or advanced audio tracks by using pre-built elements.

MED format was also used in Windows-equipped PCs. Nowadays MED files are used exclusively by enthusiasts of electronic music form the 80s and 90s of the last century.
