MMPZ is an extension characteristic of a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) program called Linux MultiMedia Studio. MMPZ files are used to store music projects made in the program. Such projects include all the data used in the project (samples, sounds) and settings (effects, pitch, tempo, volume, etc.).

Linux MultiMedia Studio, although distributed under the GPL license, is an advanced music editing and creation tool. It can work with Linux, Windows and OS X.
