Files with the .NUMBERS extension are spreadsheets, namely pages of rows and cells distributed in a table, containing data, formulae, charts, and their assigned formatting, as well as photos, videos, and music. Files of this type are unique to Apple Numbers, a program included in the iWork office suite for the macOS operating system.

NUMBERS files are an equivalent of Microsoft Excel’s XLSX files, but they are saved in a different format, dedicated solely to the macOS system. As such, if we want the data to be more adaptable, we must export it to a more universal format.
