PKF file format is used by Adobe Audition software tool available as part of Creative Cloud package. PKF file stores audio signal data in visual form. This solution allows users to better determine which parts of the WAV signal need editing. Data are generated automatically after audio track has been successfully imported.

PKF format is an upgrade over older PF format, which didn’t support floating point data. The newer standard was introduced along with the debut of Adobe Audition CS 5.5; PKF is not backward compatible with older versions.
