RGN is a data file used in navigation devices. RGN files contain database entries that can by used by map files for Garmin devices.

RGN files store maps of an region/area and can also contain information used during device software update process. Manufacturer commonly uses RNG files not only for updating maps, but also navigation devices’ software.
