Files with the RSN extension are associated with an extensive sound processing program called Reason. RSN files are used to store projects created in the program. They can contain MIDI tracks, samples, settings for sounds or data about devices located in the rack simulated by the program. It also includes information on connections between devices using virtual wiring in the rack.

Reason is software from the Swedish development group Propellerhead Software.
