RTL is an older file format for storing text data. RTL doesn’t support any formatting. RTL files, due to their simplicity, can be opened using any text editor.

Most RTL files store ASCII-encoded text, so opening such files should not pose any problems, whether on desktop or mobile systems. Nowadays, RTL files are seldom used and the format is considered obsolete.
