S3DB is a file format associated with SQLite database management engine. SQLite is a project conceived by Richard Hipp in 2000, and is still actively developed. SQLite code is available in the public domain. S3DB files contain database data without any use of additional encoding.

Support for S3DB files is typically implemented in such programming languages as C, PHP, ActionScript, Perl, Delphi, Ruby, and many others. A single S3DB file has a max size limit of 140 terabytes. SQLite is commonly used as a internal data storage solution for larger applications.
