SDI is an extension of files used by Windows and most often associated with Windows Embedded Studio. SDI files are used to store images that usually contain the entire Windows distribution along with the boot mechanism that allows you to install the system.

The SDI File Manager tool built into Windows Embedded Studio allows you to easily manage images stored in SDI files. This solution usually requires entering commands from the command line.
