SPL is a temporary data file used by Windows printing service. The file contains spool data for all documents submitted for printing. After printing the SPL file is emptied.
If there is a interruption or some printing error SPL data is copied and stored in SHD file for swift printing operation resumption. The file wiil not be created if there is not enough disk space available.
