SPRX is a file format used by games developed for Sony Playstation 3 game console. SPRX files store data related to system hardware and software compatibility. Newer generation of Sony consoles (Playstation 4) no longer uses this solution.

If the system discovers that the installed firmware is not compatible with given game, game launch process will be stopped and an appropriate message will be displayed on the screen. It is possible to trick the system into launching the game by using a modified SPRX file generated with ebootMOD application.
