UFS file format is used by Unix-based PC-BSD operating system. UFS file contains all the information about the file system on the disk. It is a disk image file, which contains data related to the entire disk or its portion, and file or folder structure.

UFS image file can be saved as a UFS.UZIP dual-extension file, which is a compressed image file. UFS disk image files are used in PC-BSD system’s network installation process.
