XLIFF is a file format created as a part of XML OAXAL architecture. XLIFF documents are used for storing language translation data used by various translation tools.

XLIFF standard was developed in 2002 and is now maintained by OASIS. Current version of XLIFF (2.1) was released in 2018, with further development planned in the future. XLIFF extension is commonly used in translation and localization industry for storing language translation data in a standardized format.
